Commerzbank means commerce in any language. The bank, based in Frankfurt, Germany, has branches in 50 countries, with its core operations in Germany and Poland. It finances about 30% of Germany’s exports and is the leading bank for small and medium businesses in the country (it operates about 90 advisory centers for businesses). The second-largest bank in Germany (behind Deutsche Bank), Commerzbank counts about 15 million private banking customers.
While it has operations around the globe, the German market accounts for about 65% of its income before provisions. The next biggest market is the rest of Europe, followed by America, and Asia.
