AT&T wanted to answer the questions of why customers leave, known as ‘churn’, and what provider they now subscribe to, known as ‘porting out’, was limited to excel reports that were manually created on a month-to-month basis. Many separate ETL processes were being run and handled by different internal groups with little consistency due to priority constraints.
iOLAP created a robust data model which leveraged new reports using MicroStrategy built on Teradata to alleviate the pain of maintain multiple sets of code which complete portions of related tasks. iOLAP architected and implemented the data model as well as all ETL pieces.
AT&T business users gained additional flexibility by being able to retrieve needed information using static reports to make critical business decisions as well as customize new reports as their needs grew.
