Shaw Communications, Inc. provides broadband cable television, Internet, and satellite television services. Shaw Communications connects subscribers in the far reaches of Western Canada with cable, internet, and wireless communications services. The company has more than 5 million total customers for its consumer and business services in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, northwestern Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

Challenge

Shaw needed to ingest data from set box data streams of its cable subscribers in real-time, from which they could process analytics.

Solution

iOLAP architected a solution efficiently ingests several terabytes of data per day, in real-time. In addition to these data volumes, iOLAP worked with data suppliers to implement new streams for additional data topics. Distribution processes then send the live data to multiple business units, where a new suite of analytics were implemented.
